Today’s #TrainingTips post is a nice simple one.
It happens to each of us at some point, even myself. What am I talking about? I’m talking about the motivation and drive to workout even when sometimes you really don’t feel like it. Keeping your head on it all the time is a tough task and it’s easy to find yourself not feeling a 100% committed from time to time. Especially in the current climate keeping that motivation is harder than normal.
But what you do in these situations is a true test to your character and how much you want to achieve something. It’s easy to say sod it and skip it, but sometimes in these moments that’s when we need to get our arse’s in gear the most. But switching your mindset like a switch is extremely hard to do and takes a lot of practice. When it happens to myself I like to either do some meditation or watch something inspiring or motivational to get me in a good head space ready to hit a great session. The link below is for an inspiring video I came across a while ago.
You know you will always feel better afterward, even when your mind try’s to convince you otherwise. However, sometimes if your body is telling you, you need to chill because you’re tired or exhausted then maybe you should. There is a big difference between your lazy mind saying come on let’s skip it and your body saying I’m really tired and could do with the rest. So try not to get mixed up and distinguish what’s talking, your body or your mind.
Laziness is a learned habit not a mental health issue.
Have a great weekend guys.
Stay strong and live, love and laugh!
